Worldmakings
2023
Premiere: the National Gallery of Art Zachęta, 30.05.2023, Warsaw
Worldmakings is a sensorial performance woven from improvisation, textiles, and tactile objects, CHOREOGRAPHED by Alicja Czyczel and Alka Nauman. Open to everyone — from newborns to centenarians — it unfolds as an invitation to play, explore, and imagine.
The work has appeared in two distinct landscapes: within the halls of the National Gallery of Art Zachęta, as part of the exhibition There Will Be No Second Spring… Children and Art in the 20th and 21st Century, curated by Joanna Kordjak; and under the open sky on Gold Island, the former bear runway of the Warsaw Zoo.
Here, the space itself becomes a co-creator — an equal, non-human performer — shaping fleeting worlds that appear only to vanish, leaving traces in memory and touch.
